Now, faith is what? “The assurance of things hoped for…” Do you see how it puts it? Faith is the assurance of things hoped for.
“…the conviction of things not seen.” He’s telling us what faith is right here. “Indeed by faith our ancestors received approval.” My faith understands that the world was prepared by the Word of God, so that what he’s seeing was made from the things unseen. So he’s telling you how it works. Isn’t this great?
God is actually telling you right here how faith works. Faith is the assurance of things hoped for. So I ran to the Lord. Here’s what the Bible is basically saying.
So, in sickness, you hope in the Lord for healing, so you run to the Lord and He gives you an assurance that He’s going to do it. And that’s faith.
It’s imparted by the Lord. This is a gift by the Lord. He imparts faith.
It’s one of the best gifts that helps you function in prophecy, healing, miracles and all. You have to have an assurance in your heart. Have you ever watched people in healing ministry?
They never tell you what they go through when they get that gift do they? They’re just kinda, “Okay come up here. Well, I’m going to hit them on the head,” and you think, Oh, that’s what does it. Hitting them on the head.
They have an inward confidence that God had spoken to them, and they are assured of it before they do it, trust me. You don’t do any of that stuff unless you have an assurance from the Lord.
Have you ever done it without an assurance from the Lord? What happens? People don’t like you after you get done doing it? Nothing has changed, and you feel like you don’t even know the Lord.
So, you can’t do it without having an assurance. But nothing’s going to happen, alright? So, I think, this is very important.
