Have you ever heard someone say, “That’s true for you, but not for me”? Or been told that religion belongs in private, not public life? These ideas flow from a divided view of truth. But Jesus didn’t separate truth into sacred and secular—He declared “I am the truth” (John 14:6). All truth flows from God, and reclaiming this unity is essential for witness and worldview.
All Truth is God’s Truth
The heavens declare God’s glory (Psalm 19:1), and Scripture proclaims:
“The law of the Lord is perfect, refreshing the soul… the statutes of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple.”
— Psalm 19:7–11
God speaks through both general revelation (creation, conscience, history) and special revelation (Scripture, Christ, Spirit).
“Truth has one source and one standard—God Himself. If it’s truly true, it belongs to Him.”
Jesus’ Integrated Worldview
Jesus didn’t just preach spiritual truths. He:
-
Referenced economics (Matthew 25:14–30),
-
Engaged law (Matthew 5–7),
-
Addressed relationships, suffering, and civic duty (Matthew 22).
His worldview touched every aspect of human life.
Biblical Examples of Unified Truth
-
Daniel served in a pagan government yet honored God.
-
Paul debated in philosophical forums and synagogues alike.
-
Romans 1–2 show God’s truth is visible even to Gentiles through creation and conscience.
Rejecting the False Divide
Modern Christians are often tempted to separate Sunday from Monday, church from business, theology from politics. But:
-
Proverbs 3:6 – “In all your ways acknowledge Him.”
-
1 Corinthians 10:31 – “Whatever you do… do it all for the glory of God.”
Truth applies to science, education, media, and justice.
Discipleship as Integration
A Christian worldview is more than a checklist of beliefs. It is a way of seeing the world where:
-
God is Creator and Sustainer.
-
Christ is King and Redeemer.
-
The Spirit is present and active.
-
Scripture is authoritative and relevant.
Conclusion
Discipleship requires reuniting what the world has split. Truth is whole because Christ is whole. Living this out is a powerful testimony to a fractured world.
